Removing Line Twist

Often, when fishing with spinning rods, anglers may experiene line-twist problems in their reels. When this hapens, it can cause the line to tangle and clog in the reel, making for a frustrating outing, and potentially a wasted fishing trip.

To get the twist out of your line, do the following:

  1. Remove the lure and/or hook from your line.
  2. Release approximately 100 feet of line.
  3. Drag the line behind your boat while idling (or rowing slowly).
  4. After a short distance, you should notice the line is no longer twisted.
  5. Reel the line back up.
  6. Re-tie on your lure, and continue fishing snarl-free!
