Removing Line Twist
Often, when fishing with spinning rods, anglers may experiene line-twist problems in their reels. When this hapens, it can cause the line to tangle and clog in the reel, making for a frustrating outing, and potentially a wasted fishing trip.
To get the twist out of your line, do the following:
- Remove the lure and/or hook from your line.
- Release approximately 100 feet of line.
- Drag the line behind your boat while idling (or rowing slowly).
- After a short distance, you should notice the line is no longer twisted.
- Reel the line back up.
- Re-tie on your lure, and continue fishing snarl-free!
