Instead of buying mealworms or waxworms for bait, you can catch your own grubs in the wild. If you're out camping, and want to try some grubs for bait (they work great for trout in streams and for bluegill), then try breaking open an old rotting log. Usually it will be full of little beetle larvae that work great for bait.
